Inclusive Education for All
Special Education
Learning Supports
Special education at Summit Academy is based on an inclusion model. All scholars — regular and special education — take the same core academic classes and are held to the same behavioral and academic expectations as expressed in their IEP goals.
How We Support Every Scholar
Accommodations & Modifications
IEP-listed accommodations are implemented daily by all classroom teachers, ensuring every scholar has what they need to succeed.
Classroom Support from Learning Strategists
Learning Strategists provide in-class support across approximately two classes per day, working alongside content teachers.
Instructional Support from Learning Strategists
Scholars who need additional support receive out-of-class pull-out instruction from Learning Strategists in small group or individual settings.
Educating Every Child
This model is the ultimate manifestation of educating each child to the maximum extent appropriate in the school and classroom they would otherwise attend. Scholars with IEPs receive additional in-class and out-of-class support, accommodations, and modifications designed to help them meet their individual goals.
